Working Parties / Schemes
The following working parties and accreditation schemes are intended to improve the relationship between industry and the environment.
BOSCA accreditation scheme for Oil Spill Response Contractors
The Environment Protection Agencies for England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland and the British Oil Spill Control Association (BOSCA),operate an accreditation scheme for spill response contractors who wish to work for, on behalf of, or by recommendation from the Agencies. The scheme is administered by BOSCA and designed to promote quality, safety and environmental awareness within the spill response industry.
The Northern Ireland launch of the scheme took place in June 1999 and to date, eight companies have received accreditation.
