There are a number of existing plans and programmes that contribute to the management of water bodies and act as drives for change to the water environment. We have complied a register of plans and programmes(.PDF 164Kb) that are relevant to each draft River Basin Management Plan
There are other local initiatives and projects that will contribute to helping us achieve the objectives we have set for our waters. We want to gather information on all activities being carried out to enhance and protect our rivers, lakes and coastal waters, fens, bogs and designated conservation areas. You can help by downloading and completing the Projects Aiming to Increase Aquatic Resources Form – for your project or initiative.
Environmental Reports have been prepared as part of the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of the River Basin Management Plans (RBMP) and Programme of Measures (POM).

Habitats Directive Article 6 assessments are required under the Habitats Directive where a plan or project may give rise to significant effects upon any site designated for conservation as part of the Natura 2000 network.
