What is MOSS?


The Management of Sensitive Sites scheme, or more simply MOSS, was developed as a means towards the proactive conservation of our most valuable natural heritage sites. Under the scheme landowners can receive payment for carrying out conservation work within the framework of a written agreement. What payments are available?


For information on paymenst phone 028 9056 9538 or 028 9056 9539.The works and the payments agreed between NIEA and an individual landowner will be specific to the particular conservation requirements of the site.

How do I apply to join MOSS?


Information packs including application forms can be obtained by telephoning 028 9056 9538 or 028 9056 9539. Applications cannot be made electronically as they must bear the applicant's signature for legal reasons. The MOSS pack can be downloaded from here but must printed and posted back.
