Northern Ireland Bog Snorkelling Championships

Peatlands Park will be hosting the fifth Northern Ireland Bog Snorkelling Championship on Sunday 26th July 2009 to celebrate International Bog Day. This promises to be a fun filled day for everyone.


Are you up to the challenge?

Does the idea of swimming along a 120 yard bog drain against other people bring out the competitor in you? Why not challenge some of your friends and family!

Anyone over the age of 12 with good physical fitness can have a go and it’s free to enter.


Participants can compete in one of four categories:

  • Men’s Northern Ireland Champion
  • Women’s Northern Ireland Champion
  • Junior Northern Ireland Champion [1 lap 60 yards] (12 – 15 years old)
  • Fun Run & Fancy Dress [1 lap 60 yards] (prizes for best fancy dress)
  • Relay Team Champion (3 persons per team)

Please note that the deadline for returned entries is 5pm on Friday 10 July 2009 so get yours returned as soon as possible!


Come along and give your support to the competitors!!!

The Bog Snorkelling Championships is not the only activity taking place on International Bog Day - There will be lots of fun, games and activities for all the family on the day also.

Don't forget, admission into the Park is free!
