is designed so that very young children can begin to focus on certain creatures, plants and habitats that are important to their local biodiversity. While this booklet focuses primarily on peat bogs, it includes a section on pond dipping.
Fergus' Nature Diary
The Fergus Nature Diary Activity Book ( pdf - 2.8 MB ) is suitable for KS1&2 children. It encourages them to think about the seasons at Crawfordsburn Country Park and the different habitats they find there. They are introduced to the habitat of the woodland, seashore and pond, what food is available, the wildlife that lives there, and the life cycles of the plants and animals over the course of the year. It can be used as an introduction to food chains and habitats.
