Esmee Fairbairn Foundation - Environment Programme ![]()
This is one of the largest independent grant making foundations in the UK . The Environment programme wishes to promote environmental improvements which balance the needs of people and wildlife.
Big Lottery Fund - Breathing Places Programme ![]()
The Breathing Places grants programme is a UK wide small grants programme, developed in partnership with the BBC. It complements the BBC's Breathing Places campaign and is designed to provide funding for small groups who are inspired by this campaign. The programme has two aims: To increase participation and access to local breathing places and : To make a lasting improvement to the local environment.
The HLF gives grants to a wide range of projects involving the local, regional and national heritage of the UK . The HLF helps groups and organisations of all sizes with projects that: encourage more people to be involved in and make decisions about their heritage: conserve and enhance the UK 's diverse heritage: and ensure that everyone can learn about, have access to and enjoy their Heritage.

EU FUNDING
The EU Funding mechanism for the environment, including Natura 2000 sites is called LIFE. This programme supports a wide range of projects, tackles problems, develops solutions across a number of sectors and addresses most key environmental issues in line with EU environmental policy priorities.
