Events Health and Safety

We place a priority on the health, safety and wellbeing of staff and others who may be affected by what we do.

Exhibitors and service providers must ensure they comply with all relevant health and safety legislation, co-operate with NIEA staff and other exhibitors and service providers to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone.

Risk Assessment

All NIEA activities are formally assessed for risks. We require all exhibitors and service providers to provide relevant health and safety information.

Written Risk Assessments (signed and dated) must be forwarded to the NIEA Marketing Team (Corporate Communications) 4 weeks before the relevant event.

In keeping with HSENI recommendations, Risk Assessments should:

  1. Identify any significant hazards
  2. Consider who might be harmed and how
  3. Evaluate the risks
  4. Decide on precautions

Exhibitors and service providers are required to:

  • Ensure that the precautions they have considered necessary are implemented
  • Ensure assessment is reviewed regularly
  • Notify us if circumstances change

Guidance on the completion of Risk Assessments is available at http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg163.pdfOpens in new window.

Reporting Incidents

We require all exhibitors and service providers to report any incident which has, or could have, caused harm to anyone to the NIEA Event Manager. Exhibitors and service providers will also be required to co-operate with any subsequent investigation.
