Recording and Understanding the Historic Environment

Northern Ireland Monuments and Building Record

Picture of site investigation.Picture of the stained glass roof of Meter House in the Gasworks, Belfast. We have been recording our built heritage in Northern Ireland for well over a century, and over this time have developed a substantial archive. This is still an ongoing process today, and material is added to the record on a daily basis. All the information gathered is held in the Northern Ireland Monuments and Buildings Record (MBR) in the form of databases, written records, maps, photographic, drawn and digital material.
